Culture Development

At Prospect we believe that the culture is the ongoing evolution of the way people react to the environment in which they are being asked to perform. It is the interaction between people within the organisational cornerstones of the leadership style, the structure, the systems and the symbols that define the business.

Business performance overall is a result of how that culture interacts with the hard elements of the business. Prospect believes that for an organisation to make the most of its most important resource; its people, it must eventually create a culture where people are empowered to perform at their best, therefore creating confident competent and committed people.

Generally there is a long term evolutionary process. To ensure that your business has long term sustainability we believe that the desired culture must be designed and then implemented from the outset. To do this there are a plethora of models to assist your organisation depending on your specific requirements.

In most cases we start with defining the vision and purpose for your organisation in consultation with your team. This will then lead us to articulate the values that are needed to drive the business forward, and which the initial leadership of the business believes will set the culture that it wished to create.

Our consultants will start by understanding the environment that your business will exist in with the definition of the business strategies to be implemented for it to succeed. We are then able to define the systems that will need to be implemented as a result. The structure required will then fall out of the communication needs and the requirement of control work processes.

Once these are defined we can look at the characteristics of the people elements that will be required to make the business function. Once we have defined the people elements we are then able to go back and further refine these elements to ensure that they will not adversely impact the culture of the business that we wish to create.

Once the culture has been defined, we are then able to design the processes to actually do it. We are able to design the systems and processes around the definitions and we are able to select and then develop the people to create the culture.
